Edible Camera?

One of my best friends is one of the worlds best photographers and I happen to be heading out to Florida to spend some time with her, shoot some pictures and soak in some much needed Vitamin D! So I decided to make a cute treat to bring to her... CANON LOVERS UNITE! xo

Be My SweetTART

Last night my "Sweet-Tart" became the photographer! Again a Martha Special! These were absolutely divine & crispy! Click here to be redirected to the recipe! Again super easy to make these dairy free just make all your 1 for 1 substitutions as usual! It does say to freeze a log (which I did) but i'm kinda thinking that next time I make these I will roll them out like cookie dough and cut fun shapes! Perfect dough for that kind of thing!

WHOOOPIIEEEE!!

These are an adaptation of Martha Stewart's Banana Cream Whoopie Pies, and can I say WOW! and extremely easy to make these dairy free! -All you have to do is replace the butter with earth balance and toffuti sour cream for the regular sour cream. The one definite change I will say that we made was adding an extra 1/4 cup of sour cream- it made the batter a bit moister and easier to pipe onto the cookie sheet. This particular time we made them was actually an order for an event at Martha Stewart tomorrow. I will post more on the event after... and of course there will be photos! Stay tuned! For the recipe, click the link above to be redirected!

Oh yeah... Quick tip about whoopie pies... if you want them to come out perfectly round, just made normal mounds and when you first pull them out of the oven use a cookie cutter to make them uniform... also a fun way to play with whoopie shapes!!

Ready... Aim... (food photography lessons)

And were back! I have been away in Miami for Passover (i know poor me :) Just before I left I took a day photography course with Lou Manna. His work is absolutly beautiful! He definitely knows his way around a camera... and somehow he has all of his food coming out so delicious it makes you want to eat the print out. Click here to see his
website or blog. We learned techniques on food photography, lighting, lenses and a whole bunch more and even had some hands on experience in the second half of the class. We were sent out to choose something to photograph... so of course I came back with the hardest thing I could find... MARSHMALLOWS! and of course since playing with them and the "Matzah S'mores", they are the hardest thing to photograph! We had a full closet of props and goodies to choose from... set up your scene and say cheese! or say danish?? Was a great day and learned tons... now to buy all of that amazing equipment so my photography can look half as good as his without photoshopping! hummmm :D
