NO-BAKE Healthy Granola Bars
Ingredients:
PAM SPRAY
1 1/4 cups rolled oats
1 1/4 cups toasted walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup oat bran
1 1/2 cups cereal of your choice (preferably unsweetened)
1 cup dried cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup tablespoons dried fruit of your choice, finely chopped (I use dried ginger)
1 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup natural cane sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins
/Chocolate, Melted (optional)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350F. Mix the oats, walnuts, oat bran, cereal, cranberries, and any other dry ingredients together in a large bowl pour mixture out onto 2 cookie sheets and toast in the preheated oven until golden brown (about 20 minutes-check often) While the nuts and oats are in the oven spray a 8 by 8-inch pan with PAM for thick bars (use a larger pan if you like them thinner. Combine the syrup, sugar, vanilla and salt in a saucepan over medium heat until dissolved (about 4 minutes). Remove oat mixture from the oven once golden and pour back into the original bowl. Mix in the wet ingredients into the oat mixture while still hot and add any dried fruit that you decided to use. Spread into pan and let cool. Cut into desired shapes and dip bottom half in melted chocolate (optional) CUT, EAT, ENJOY!
No baking necessary! :D
These really sound--and look--very good. I've never made granola bars, but I think that might just have to change soon. Great recipe!

ReplyDeleteoo sorry bout that meant to add it next to dried fruit of your choice- cause thats what I use but its really option based on the kind of taste you wnat to have! good luck!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, I want to make some too, but what do you mean by "Mix into oat mixture while still hot"? There were no instructions for use of oven or stove. Please help!
