FAT FREE & DAIRY FREE BANANA BREAD
Makes 1 Loaf (or 1 Dozen Muffins)
Ingredients :
3 mashed bananas
1½ cups sugar
½ cup applesauce
2 egg whites**
¼ cup soy milk
1½ cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ cup chocolate chips, or more (optional and wont be entirely fat free but well worth it / try carob chips if you are so inclined)
Directions :
Mix together in order. Pour into lightly pamed 9*5" loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour 20 minutes. Or In a muffin tin for 40 minutes. Let cool and ENJOY!
**VEGAN TIP: You can easily make this bread VEGAN by JUST NOT USING EGGS!! (Just add a teaspoon of baking powder!)

ReplyDeleteSoy milk has fat in it.. this is not fat free. low fat maybe. So do chocolate chips.

ReplyDeleteI substituted the soy milk with water, and reduced the sugar to 3/4 of a cup and it worked beautifully!

can i substitute the sugar for splenda??
ReplyDeleteyes of course... depending on how sweet you want it you don't even need to use the full amount because the applesauce is responsible for a lot of the sweetness.
